In 1980 RAY THE MOVER of Naples, Inc. opened its doors in Naples, Florida as a local Naples mover. At that time, Naples had a population of 85,971 and RAY THE MOVER had one truck, three employees and a 2,000 square foot storage facility.
In 1981, John Smarge joined the company as General Manager with a clear goal of providing the SW Florida community with “the highest quality moving and storage services at reasonable, guaranteed prices” and developing a work environment where employees are rewarded for providing “uncompromised customer satisfaction”.
Today, the population of Collier County is more than 300,000 and John Smarge serves as President and sole owner of RAY THE MOVER. The company has a fleet of twelve vehicles, working out of three warehouses totaling 40,000 square feet of air-conditioned storage and employs thirty men and women dedicated to “exceeding the expectations of their valued customers”. With the addition of the Fort Myers facility in 2004, RAY THE MOVER is now serving Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties. A Punta Gorda office opening is scheduled for the near future.
RAY THE MOVER excels in local and intra-Florida moves, moves within the Southeast and through its northAmerican Van Lines affiliation, moves around the country and around the world.
The men and women packers at RAY THE MOVER are trained to pack anything, from the most delicate porcelain pieces and artwork to toys and the everyday dishes.
With a full time warehouse staff, RAY THE MOVER offers safe and secure air-conditioned storage for personal household goods, drop ship commodities and as a distribution site for large commercial accounts.
